The monument concluding the Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Kyiv symbolizes the feminine essence, personifying the strength of the Ukrainian people. It is situated on the slopes of the Dnipro River and can be seen from any point in Kyiv. Interestingly, the sculpture slightly exceeds the height of the well-known Statue of Liberty in America. Its total height reaches 102 meters, with one hand holding a 16-meter and 9-ton sword, and the other - a shield weighing 13 tons, featuring the coat of arms of the USSR. There was a notion to cover the Motherland statue with gold leaf, and at its base, leading towards the Dnipro River, there would be a waterfall. However, the main entrance to the museum was later positioned not from the side of the Dnipro as initially planned, but from the side of the Lavra. The sculpture includes observation decks, accessible by elevators inside the statue.

Эта статуя вместе с пьедесталом достигает в высоту 102 м. Здесь проводится очень интересная познавательная экскурсия. Внутри статуи имеются лифты, которые доставляю людей наверх. С верхней смотровой площадки по лестнице можно попасть на кромку щита. Это ни много, ни мало 92 метра и на ветру щит довольно ощутимо покачивается. Зато со смотровых площадок открывается неповторимый вид на Киев. В расположенном здесь музее можно посетить выставку боевых машин, на которых воевали во Второй мировой войне.
