The Grand Canal is called the main waterway of Venice, dividing the city into two parts. Its length is almost 4 kilometers, with a width reaching up to 70 meters. However, it is not very deep - just 5 meters. Interestingly, there are a total of 400 bridges in Venice, but only 4 of them connect the opposite banks of the Grand Canal. It is often referred to as the Canal of Palaces and even an open-air museum. Along the entire Grand Canal, numerous amazing buildings rise, created by the country's renowned architects. Taking a stroll down the city's main "street" is best done on a gondola, just before sunset. The tour might not take more than an hour, but in that time, you will be able to see more than a hundred luxurious palaces, churches, and ancient buildings, which are painted in various colors.

Le grand Canal est un point de passage important à Venise. Lors de mon passage à Venise j'ai beaucoup apprécié la découverte de la ville en bateau.
