About

The history of every city can tell a lot about the fate of the entire country and the mentality of its inhabitants. To get acquainted with the life of the small, yet ancient, Český Krumlov, the first thing to do is visit its Regional Museum.

The building that houses the museum was erected in the 17th century and for a long time served as a Jesuit seminary. It is also a monument of Baroque architecture in its own right. All tourist tours of the city start from the lookout platform in front of the doors of this bright and majestic building.

The museum has preserved interiors from various eras and hundreds of valuable exhibits: photographs, documents, and sculptures, with particular attention deserving a ceramic model of the city's central district. The top floor of the building offers a panoramic view of the entire Český Krumlov, and the Regional Museum itself provides a better understanding of the region in all its details.
