ČeskÝ Krumlov Castle is called a whole complex of buildings and courtyards, located on picturesque hills right in the heart of the ancient city. Founded in the 13th century, it remains the second-largest castle in all of the Czech Republic and does not require restoration, thanks to the preservation of all its elements, even to this day.

Every component in this place is astonishing: the road to the castle is adorned with sculptures of saints, bears still live in the moat protecting the structure, and the inner park hosts a unique rotating auditorium, which serves as seating for theatrical performances. The castle simultaneously acts as a vantage point offering views over the entire city, a rich museum of ceramic and fine arts, and also an original architectural project, whose complexity and grandeur attract tourists so much.

An exceptional historical building, beautifully preserved, well-organized tours, at least 2 hours should be taken. I recommend a guided tour for additional explanations. A must visit if you are in Český Krumlov.
