Firing Line — Museum of the Welsh Soldier powstało w 2010 roku jako połączenie zbiorów Queen’s Dragoon Guards Museum (zlokalizowanego wcześniej w Bowness-on-Windermere) oraz Welch Regiment Museum, które znajdowały się w wieży Black i Barbican na terenie Zamku Cardiff.Wspólną misją tej placówki jest uczczenie i zachowanie dziedzictwa wojskowego Walii, przedstawiające historię dwóch regimentów: 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards oraz The Royal Welsh, ukazując ich udział w konflikcie od XVIII wieku po współczesne misje w Iraku i Afganistanie. Ekspozycja umieszczona jest na parterze nowoczesnego centrum interpretacyjnego, wkomponowanego w przestrzeń Zamku Cardiff. Dzięki temu połączeniu stref historycznej i nowoczesnej architektury, muzeum zyskuje wyjątkowy charakter – oferuje wrażenie immersji w historii osadzonej w autentycznej scenerii zamku.
