About

Nestled in the heart of Budapest, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, also known locally as Budapesti Jézus Szíve Templom, stands as a testament to Romanesque Revival architecture, meticulously designed by architect József Kauser. Opened in 1891, this enchanting church features stunning twin spires and a striking red brick facade, making it a photogenic landmark overlooking Lorinc Pap Square and Maria Utca.

The interior matches the exterior's grandeur, with impressive decorations that offer a spiritually uplifting experience to visitors and locals alike. The church caters to a large congregation, holding an English mass every Saturday at 5:00pm. It's known within the community for its charismatic and friendly priest, Father Árpád, who oversees weddings, baptisms, and other special events. With an average Google rating of 4.8, Sacred Heart Catholic Church is not only a place of worship but also one of Budapest's cherished attractions.

A kerületrész legszebb temploma a hangulatos Lőrinc pap téren álló Jézus Szíve templom. A jezsuita szerzetesrend legjelentősebb budapesti temploma, 1891-ben épült, felszentelve csak 1909-ben lett. A vöröskőből épült templom alapja neoromán, tornyai neogótikus stílusúak.
