About

The European Quarter was built practically from scratch to house the buildings and institutions of the European Union in the eastern part of Brussels. This place is quite easy to spot-it is surrounded by the Cinquantenaire, King Leopold, and Brussels parks Cinquantenaire.

The main street of the European Quarter is named Loi, and one of its buildings hosts meetings of the European Commission. The doors of the European Parliament, located on the major Rue Belliard street, are open to tourists all year round. On Europe Day, which is celebrated on May 9th, everyone has the opportunity to visit the most important government buildings in Brussels, where pressing issues are discussed between the heads of various states.
