This was my first experience in a Michelin Star restaurant, and it will likely be my last. It was not at all what I expected, and it makes me question what the star actually means. First, the servers were nice as they were always quick to respond; however, the exhaustive stories accompanying every dish felt unnecessary and were extremely uncomfortable. I was sweating from the server's dramatic presentation/speech every time a new plate was delivered. Employees standing around the whole meal, watching us eat, made it impossible to ever feel relaxed or even comfortable at this restaurant. Next, the food was the greatest disappointment. My family did a 9-course tasting menu, and I believe it took until course 7 before we finally received a dish that was cooked (barely). Each course was presented with the exhausting story of how unique or special the raw ingredient on the plate was, which felt forced and somewhat sad. In my opinion, the rarest and most exclusive ingredients are completely irrelevant if you can’t cook them… at all. Lastly, each dish incorporated gelatin in some way, so the meal honestly seemed to be a showcase of raw "exclusive" ingredients, and how can we keep presenting gelatin over and over again. Overall, it is an expensive and exhausting experience I will not seek again.

Dining at Fiola was an absolute delight from start to finish. The elegant yet warm atmosphere set the perfect stage for an unforgettable meal, where every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. I especially loved the fresh, vibrant flavors—each bite was a harmonious balance of classic Italian techniques with a modern twist. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the seafood was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Service was attentive without being overbearing, making the whole experience feel both special and comfortable. Fiola is definitely a spot I’d return to for a celebratory dinner or any time I want to treat myself to truly exceptional Italian cuisine.
