2023: It was a Tuesday night and we just finished a movie at the cinemas. Found this place online and we're so glad that we went. Didn't have to wait once we got there since they had a couple of tables open for 2. We got the beef noodle soup and korean spicy noodles. Flavors on everything were spot on. It is a little pricey, tho, but so worth it. The servers are also attentive. One of the best places we've gone to. 5 stars all around. March 2025: I've been to Kothai at least 4 more times since my first visit over a year ago, once for brunch. Most recently, two nights ago. I consider this place one of, if not my favorite, restaurant in SF. My current favorites on the menu are the ceviche and the beef tartare. The pork chop we got during our last visit also blew us away. We'll be back soon. August 2025: Came in for brunch again on a Saturday with a friend. We got the rose toast and the French toast with a couple of drinks. Excellent food as always! Also still amazing service.

We recently moved to the area and there's really no place that encapsulates a cozy, foggy evening in the Inner Sunset than Kothai Republic. Of course people flock to here for the amazing Sunday brunches and goodness I can't count the number of happy first dates I've seen here, but we love coming here in the later evening and just enjoying incredible food in good company. Try the octopus! I've been all around the globe and it's the best I've had. Hopefully it's still on the menu when you visit.
