About

A place of regular visitation for Catholics and an attraction warmly welcoming tourists - the Church of Saint Mary, built over a century ago, has completely retained its impeccable appearance, having heard thousands of tearful prayers and confessions within its modest walls. The building is adorned with a tall, pointed dome with elegant triangular merlons around the bell tower and a traditional cross crowning its peak. The interior is done in a classic Italian style, with walls around the altar painted with biblical scenes featuring the Virgin Mary. The church is also referred to as the Salesian or Our Lady of Perpetual Help, paying tribute to the first monks who served masses here and offered prayers to heaven.
