About

Vermanes Garden, as the oldest park in Latvia, quite literally rose "from rags to riches," transforming an unsightly swamp into verdant meadows and avenues. Over the years, the place significantly "grew" in size, expanding its dimensions by almost five hectares.

Named in honor of the widow Verman, who became its main patron, the park is not just about trees and walking paths, but also features a zinc fountain, an hourglass, and the famous "Vernissage" by Raimonds Pauls. In the evenings, the Vermanes "wonder" lights up with lanterns, opens its doors to a nightclub, and during the day, anyone can relax in the tea house, play chess, or take a closer look at the local flora. By the way, the park's plants are almost endemics, growing only here, and rare representatives of the "green" kind brought in from other countries.
