About

Bastion Hill Park has long claimed its rightful place in the hearts of Riga's residents and visitors, who see it as an "oasis" amidst the capital's concrete architecture. It is here that newlyweds often take photographs, and families with children stroll between the verdant tree alcoves.

"Without destroying the old, the new cannot be built" - this phrase is most applicable to the park. Thanks to the authorities' decision, the ancient fortifications were demolished long ago, and Bastion Hill was created in their place. Pathways, a cozy café at the top, artificial waterfalls, and green plantations - creating such a recreational area took a lot of time and effort. The park was brought its European renown by healers, who several centuries ago confidently claimed that the local air could cure severe diseases.
