About

Riga can definitely be called a city of contradictions, as it's home to two completely different monuments in terms of social significance - the Museum of the Occupation and Victory Park with its famous monument. The name "Victory Park" was given to the place unofficially, while officially it is known as Petrovsky Park.

The focal point for anyone who finds themselves in Victory Park is the world-famous Stella that depicts soldiers, sailors, and a woman. Nowadays, the monument is often passed by pensioners who have come out to breathe some fresh air, as well as youngsters on roller skates and skis. Every year on May 9th, the area in front of the majestic sculpture is covered with live flowers, serving as a reminder of the feat that cannot be erased by time.

Lielisks aktīvās atpūtas, pastaigu, pikniku un spēļu parks. Galdi, soli, atpūta uz zviļņiem ūdens malā.
