Church Of St Katherine Of Alexandria in Prague
About
The Church Of St Katherine Of Alexandria stands as a testament to centuries of history and architectural brilliance in Prague. Originally founded in 1355 by Charles IV, this remarkable structure was transformed in 1741 under the guidance of Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer, gaining its stunning Baroque appearance. Located within a peaceful park and enclosed by tall, historic walls, the entrance can be found in the western corner, offering a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle.
Renowned for its soaring slender tower - a remnant of its Gothic origins - and an exquisite interior, visitors often find themselves deeply moved by the inviting atmosphere. The church resonates with the echoes of heartfelt hymns during mass, creating an unforgettable experience for those attending. With its high Google rating, it's not just a feast for the eyes but a suitable visit for families with its child-friendly environment. After a period serving various functions, the church was reconsecrated in 1841 and restored to its liturgical purpose in 2010, inviting spiritual seekers and history enthusiasts alike to explore its sacred spaces.

A gorgeous Orthodox church dating from 1355. I attended my first Orthodox service here today and it was wonderful. Everyone was either Russian or Ukrainian and I couldn't understand much of the liturgy but it was a moving experience none the less. I couldn't find out when service started so I showed up at 9 am and managed to get a place in the back. People were coming in throughout the service and there were at least 50-60 more people outside the church.

Es una bonita iglesia dentro de un parque muy tranquilo y apacible

Прекрасное место. Старое убранство храма превосходное.
