About

The Parisians' love for geometry is unmistakably reflected in one of the city's main thoroughfares - Place de la Concorde. From a bird's-eye view, it's easy to see that it forms a perfect octagon, with a statue positioned at each corner. Each sculpture symbolizes one of the cities of France. In times of war, it was customary to drape the statues representing cities that had fallen to the enemy with a mourning veil. At the center stands a large Egyptian obelisk, adorned with hieroglyphs. It's noteworthy that being in Place de la Concorde, you find yourself surrounded by other Parisian attractions, and no matter which direction you choose to go, you'll end up encountering another masterpiece of French craftsmanship.
