The restaurant is in a calm paved street (you can’t eat outside). We had an early dinner and we were not too hungry so we shared 4 plates. Goat cheese toast, beef sandwich, stuff mushroom, stuff eggplant. The beef was definitely the best, the others were average. Service was good.

Absolutny odlot kulinarny! Taberna da Esperança to jedno z tych miejsc w Lizbonie, do których po prostu trzeba wrócić. Od samego początku czuliśmy się tu bardzo mile widziani — głównie dzięki fantastycznemu kelnerowi Martimowi, który mimo pełnego obłożenia znalazł dla nas stolik, a potem przez cały wieczór z klasą i wyczuciem dbał o nasze potrzeby. Elokwentny, pomocny, dyskretny – prawdziwy profesjonalista. A teraz jedzenie… Prawdziwa uczta! Krewetki w sosie cytrynowym były przepyszne – świeże, aromatyczne, doskonale zbalansowane. Pieczarki z jadalnymi kasztanami to połączenie, które zaskoczyło i zachwyciło – głębia smaku, której się nie zapomina. A kanapka ze stekiem z tuńczyka? Najlepsza, jaką kiedykolwiek jedliśmy. Serio. Taberna da Esperança to miejsce, gdzie pasja do gotowania spotyka się z prawdziwą gościnnością. Na pewno tu wrócimy.

Superb. Wish I took more photos. Octopus was fabulous, sweet jellied beef and bacalhau of course were delicious.
