Linz

Start your acquaintance with the Austrian city on the Danube on the north bank at the Ars Electronica Center. AEC is renowned for its multimedia exhibitions on technology and scientific achievements. In the evening, tourists can control the colorful lighting of the facade. On the south bank, you'll see a concert hall, a museum of modern art, and the panorama of Old Linz.

Cross the river via the bridge to find yourself at the Main Square with the Town Hall. Set out to explore the streets of the historic center by tourist train or on foot. Visit the Old Cathedral to admire its magnificent Baroque-style interior. Marvel at the grand complex of the New Cathedral - Linzer Mariendom: it accommodates 20,000 people, features neo-Gothic style, and boasts stained glass windows. There is an observation deck on the roof.

Spectacular views of the city and the Danube can be enjoyed by visitors at the Linzer Schloss museum complex. Nearby is a beautiful park with pavilions, sculptures, and landscape terraces. Discover steel production at the interactive voestalpine Stahlwelt museum.

Include a visit to Pöstlingberg in your plan, reachable by historic tram or cable car. At the top of the hill, there is a pilgrimage basilica, the fairy-tale park Grottenbahn, and several observation platforms. On the outskirts of Linz, you can find ancient towers, a Buddhist stupa, and Steyregg Castle.
