About

Among the top ten most recognizable and attractive landmarks of Innsbruck, the Helbling House undoubtedly makes the list - a five-story building that one can admire for hours. This distinguished building has been decorating the city's central street, Duke Friedrich Street, with its rich décor for more than ten centuries. Built in the Gothic art era, the building embodies the best traditions of the style, marked by refined shapes and modest curves. However, in the mid-18th century, students from the Wessobrunn School of Art added elements of the then fashionable Baroque style to the façade.

Today, the Helbling House, which still bears the name of a 19th-century café owner, has retained the Gothic arched system of the first floor, but the rest is densely adorned with intricate stucco work and frescoes.
