The Fountain of Cibeles is surrounded by two Spanish palaces and a bank, conveniently located near the Prado Boulevard. At the center of attention is the sculpture of the goddess of fertility, Cibeles, who sits on a chariot pulled by two lions.

Both the goddess and the proud, yet humbly obedient lions, are made of white marble. The fountain is beloved by locals and visitors alike, and it's common to see little children playing nearby, enjoying its refreshing coolness. The only ones forbidden from approaching Cibeles are the supporters of the Real Madrid football club. After one of the club's victories, fans dressed the statue of the goddess in the team's colors and inadvertently broke off one of the statue's arms.
