The Maritime Museum is located in the Main Building of the Naval Headquarters in Madrid, on Paseo del Prado. The museum's primary purpose is to seek out and further preserve any exhibits related to Spain's illustrious maritime past.
Visitors in the museum halls can find countless works of art, ranging from the distant fifteenth century to the present day. The entire collection is arranged in strict chronological order to facilitate gradual acquaintance. Besides everything else, the maritime museum also serves as a modern educational center, enabling Madrid's youth and visitors to learn many new facts about the historical past of their country.
