About

Perched at a high point in Cuenca's old town, Plaza Mayor offers a captivating blend of history and vibrant local life. This uniquely shaped square, with its irregular form, is embraced by architectural gems like the regal town hall and the majestic cathedral. It's a lively hub where buses and taxis come and go, and where restaurants spill onto the square, inviting visitors to savor local flavors. The area is perfectly accessible, welcoming everyone from families with children to those using wheelchairs. A ride on the toy train offers a delightful way to explore, while the daring can venture to the Castillo for breathtaking views of the famous hanging houses. The narrow medieval lanes leading away from the square whisper tales of the past, while the lively buzz of cultural performances keeps the spirit of Plaza Mayor ever vibrant.
