About

The Franks, the latest history, and two thousand years of Germany - Unter den Linden Boulevard has forever become the residence of the German Historical Museum. The past has become the future, and the future has intertwined with the past - nothing can hinder this "union." The former ancient arsenal, mixed with transparent glass and steel - now these are two separately located buildings for exhibitions, connected by a tunnel. The era of Luther, the Gulag, European art, and Charlemagne - the museum has found a place for every echo of the past. If you get a little tired from the reliefs, exhibits, and frozen military actions, the museum thoughtfully equipped itself with cinemas and a bookstore. To get lost for a few hours in quiet and leisurely beauty is possible from 10 to 18 - the museum's shop with historical souvenirs is still waiting for you.

I visit most DHM exhibitions. While I have some criticism about curation/execution they always are highly interesting and instructive.

My favourite museum in Berlin so far! We got in on a museum pass and tried several museums this way - this one stood out to me as showing history in a really engaging, thoughtful and informative way! We enjoyed both exhibits currently on and I was especially moved by the one on turning points in German history, which did a good job both informing and challenging viewers to think for themselves!

The Road not Taken exhibition was very well designed and makes you think of the possible scenarios.
