About

European painting, and perhaps the most significant collection of masterpieces by artists - the Berlin Picture Gallery, is located on Potsdamer Platz. Such a "jewel" of the capital rightly deserves the best, but the memory of the times when the gallery suffered from bomb explosions and the scorching queues of World War II, and then bled from being divided, torn into two parts, is still fresh. Van Dyck, paintings by Rubens and Rembrandt - the English, the refined French, and the Dutch all met here to shine, to radiate their genius and skill, and to show off in front of each other. The sublimity and flight of imagination, purely German practicality, and nothing of unimportance around - the Berlin "miracle" has become a Mecca for tourist outings and a basis for the pride of native Germans.

Great paintings but order of visit is very unclear. At least we had our bookguide to help us. Might be better with audioguide ? But not all paintings have english translation, could be worth it

Prachtige werken in serene grote ruimtes opgehangen. Mooie locatie en in alle rust te bewonderen.
