About

Conceived as a sanctuary for Huguenots fleeing from France, a mixed church of Lutherans and Calvinists, hymns, and psalms to God set to ancient tunes - all this is the French Cathedral, the first stones of which were laid back in 1701. Once, Thomas Hawks himself performed music under its roof, but times have changed, the strict asceticism of its decor has been replaced with soft ornamentation, which only enhanced the cathedral. The Evangelical church regularly holds its meetings and gatherings here, and the dome tower houses an observation deck, where wedding ceremonies and nuptials take place. Right inside the building, there is a wine bar and a tiny restaurant - tired from wandering and new impressions, one can sip on some fortified wine, accompanied by a piece of coarse bread. And then, one can proceed to the Huguenot museum, which is located right in the cathedral.
