About

The National Art Museum of Catalonia is located in the National Palace of Barcelona. The museum "was born" from the merger of two "temples of art," combining Romanesque and Gothic styles, the Renaissance, and Baroque periods.

The contemporary exhibition is divided into several thematic sections. Visitors can start their journey in the drawings and engravings section, then slowly move on to Catalan numismatics, coinage, and medals, and finally head to the library of historical arts and the newly opened photography gallery. Interestingly, many exhibits were taken from Pyrenean churches, where they undoubtedly would have been lost and forgotten.
