About

The house with spikes, possessing truly gigantic dimensions, occupies an entire block in Barcelona. Many call it an ancient hybrid of a town hall and a castle due to its hexagonal shape with the same number of sharp towers.

The building, constructed according to the design of the famous 20th-century architect Puig i Cadafalch, among other things, has six facades in different styles. Some are complemented by sections of carved light stone, others are adorned with allegorical paintings, while the "appearance" of the third includes Gothic elements or lavish forms. The most famous and striking facade depicts Saint George with an inscription petitioning for the return of Catalonia's sovereignty.
