25 years on since construction, this provides convenient walking and cycling route to local schools, York College and University of York via Sustrans NCN65. The western access has recently been raised so that it remains accessible during winter floods. Terry Ave and New Walk provide routes into the City Centre but are affected by flooding several times a year.
