About

Bazylika Świętego Krzyża in Warsaw is an awe-inspiring example of Baroque architecture designed by Józef Szymon Bellotti. This splendid Catholic church, standing proudly on Krakowskie Przedmieście, is a historical gem with a high Google rating of 4.7.

It played a crucial role during the Warsaw Uprising, serving as a stronghold against the Germans. Inside, you can find numerous plaques commemorating great Poles, with the heart of the renowned composer Fryderyk Chopin resting here. The chapel dedicated to Pope John Paul II adds a touch of reverence and modern history.

Richly decorated and beautifully restored after the destruction of 1944, the church's grandeur is evident in its spacious main nave and wide lateral aisles. Apart from Chopin's heart, the heart of Władysław Reymont and a chapel honoring the victims of the 1940 Katyn massacre can also be found here. This magnificent church is not only a place of worship but a treasure trove of Polish history and culture, suitable for visitors of all ages.

There is no admission fee for Holy Cross Church in Warsaw. It's a beautiful building, both the interior and exterior. Chopin's heart is entombed there. It's very close to many of the sights. During a visit to Warsaw, it's a must!
