These impressive remnants of Rannakaitsepatarei 12 are a crucial part of Peter the Great's Sea Fortress, which defended the approaches to Tallinn during World War I. These abandoned batteries tell a compelling story of massive defensive efforts and the strategic importance of the area. It's a fascinating place to walk around and imagine the rich military history of the region. History buffs and fans of ruins definitely shouldn't miss it!

This place is absolutely unique (I mean the whole Paljassaare conservation area). Only several kilometers from a civilized city, you find natural wilderness: wonderful dense mixed forests, fields of reed, grasslands with cattle, meadows with various flowers and grasses, old ponds with diverse inhabitants, and of course a tidy sea coast (though some soviet-era garbage like parts of military facilities is still visible here and there). The trail is about 6 kilometers of joy and pleasant discoveries.
