About

In the heart of Tallinn's Kesklinn district, the KGB Prison Cells provide a chilling glimpse into Estonia's past. This attraction and museum, suitable for children and offering family discounts, tells the haunting story of its time as a center for Soviet state security. Originally dubbed the "house of horrors" in 1940, its cellar became infamous in 1941 when internal prison cells were constructed. These cells are a stark reminder of the communist terror and human rights abuses that linger in collective memory. An educational experience for all ages, the site serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of protecting human rights.
