This no-frills Pakistani eatery in the Tenderloin is open late (till 11 PM on the Tuesday night I stopped by for a quick bite). It has the standards including tandoori meats and naan breads as well as curries (meat and vegetarian). The chai tea hits the spot on a cold night too. I ordered at the counter, and one of the waiters brought the food to my table. There were lots of single diners (all men, as were the staff this evening) on when I stopped by at 10:30 PM on a Tuesday night. Not fancy, but filling, tasty, authentic (I haven’t been to Pakistan, but it remembers me of many eateries in North India), and reasonably priced. There are two other locations as well, though I’ve only visited this one. My partner and I used to eat at this spot two decades ago when one of us lived in Chinatown, and I’m glad to see that this place is still serving up hot Pakistani food and chai! They take card payments including Apple Pay. A saag gosht (spinach lamb curry) with naan bread, chawal (a rice pilaf), raita (lightly spiced yogurt), and a cup of sweet hot chai cost me about $25 with tax but before tip. I’d come back when in the Tenderloin, especially when looking for something hot to eat late at night or craving Indian/Pakistani cuisine.
