After a miserable Japanese lunch with soap soaked Katsu-don, I was determined to find a legit Thai cuisine eatery for dinner and Hed definitely passed with flying colours. All prior reviews you see are true - the food is authentic and comes in such cute portions that you get to taste a variety without problems even if you’re dining alone. Definitely a must do when looking for Asian or Thai cuisine in San Francisco - just don’t miss the signage leading you into the alley!

Hed Very Thai always hits hard. I ordered the seasonal special chicken and pork ribs set, and it delivered in every way. (As does this place every time) The Kao Man Gai was super flavorful with tender chicken with a spicy ginger sauce that had just the right kick. The sautéed spicy cabbage was addicting, and the trio of rice (jasmine, brown, and rice berry) made it fun to mix and match with the different parts of the set. The papaya salad was unapologetically spicy. Exactly how it should be. I always get an order of Sai Ua. It’s almost as good as what I had in Chiang Mai, which is saying a lot.
