Well damn. This place lives up to the hype. You must order the 49er. Literally the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Also tried the Stephanie (tuna and bacon) and the Leroy brown. Both were solid. But the 49er was an absolute legend. Fries and mick sauce delicious. Worth the long line.

I heard the buzz about this trendy sandwich spot—no seating, kind of a hole-in-the-wall vibe, but super popular. I dropped by this afternoon and ordered their newest sandwich, the Levi’s, with a side of waffle fries. After tax and tip, I paid $45. Honestly, I could’ve had a full sit-down lunch at a proper restaurant for less. The sandwich is meaty, but the coleslaw was too sparse to add the needed freshness or crunch. Mustard was barely noticeable, and the sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Bread was fine, nothing memorable. As for the $12 fries—way under-salted, and again, the sauce was too sweet. A simple no-sugar ketchup would’ve done better. The sandwich was good—but not $45 good. The location feels sketchy, there’s nowhere to sit, and overall, it’s overpriced and overhyped. If you’re craving a great sandwich, I’d recommend La Sandwiche in North Beach instead. Tasty sandwiches at half the price, a welcoming owner, and a sunny place to sit and relax. Now that’s a spot I’d go back to.
