If I have to tag this place then the only thing that comes to mind is: A sad demonstration of culinary skills and the output doesn't resemble Japanese cuisine... So when I try a Ramen or Yzakaya place then I keep my choices simple but specific. Agedashi tofu, grilled squid and pork katsu don. Simple but ... First out was a salad and miso soup . The salad was delivered straight from the plastic bag it was purchased in. No prep but dry spinach with a squirt of some over sweet industrial dressing. Nasty .. the miso soup was alright but not enough to lift the overall experience. The tofu itself again not bad but served with coarsely chopped green onions on even more coarsely chopped bed of cabbage. Green onion must have been the ingredient of the day as it was served in almost every dish. I suggest trying Katsuobushi to go along with the tofu. The squid was also disaster, it's tentacles were over cooked and not eatable and the body of the squid was under cooked and chewy.. I felt sorry for the squid, a life waste and then ignored in the chefs kitchen. The pork katsu ... Omg even the pork had to suffer. Overfried and dry and the curry didn't do justice to a what a japanese curry is. On the plus side they don't make their own beer, at the least the Asahi lived up to it's reputation.
