About

Mozartkino, nestled in the heart of Salzburg's Old Town, is a hidden gem in the world of cinemas. With a history dating back to 1905, this cozy theater is one of the oldest in Europe and uniquely built on walls of a Roman temple from 1342. Its art deco lobby, adorned with old movie posters and a quaint popcorn vending machine, exudes a nostalgic charm.

Rated 4.5 on Google, Mozartkino is highly recommended for a 1-2 hour visit. It's especially suitable for families, with child-friendly features and convenient credit card payment options. While the cinema often shows movies in English, checking the schedule for timings and languages is a good idea. The intimate size of the theater compared to modern chains makes it a delightful place for a relaxed movie experience, just as enjoyed by famous patrons like Romy Schneider and Maria Schell in the past.
