About

The Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia can easily be mistaken for its look-alikes, the Japanese gardens with their blooming sakuras, precisely arranged stones, and springs, as they look almost identical. The garden's "collection" consists of a multitude of plants and flowers, most of which have been brought from afar.

Anyone interested can visit this famous kingdom of flora since the botanical garden is just a ten-minute drive from the capital's city center. Spacious greenhouses for the overly delicate "inhabitants" and whole rows of outdoor plants that are not afraid of climate change - the garden is home to more than 6,000 representatives of the green realm. Here, tourists can often be seen spending hours in the greenhouses with tropical butterflies or choosing an unusual "plant" gift for their loved ones in a special shop.
