Tucked away in a quiet little alley just behind our hotel, we discovered a small, family-run restaurant — truly a hidden gem. The very friendly mother and son served in the dining hall while the father worked his magic in the kitchen. It felt less like dining out and more like visiting a Portuguese family friend’s home. They served incredibly fresh fried sardines and perfectly grilled seabass — so fresh they needed hardly any garnish. Prices were also very reasonable compared to the tourist spots around Porto. We’ll definitely be going back before we leave for our next destination.
