About

Parroquia De San Francisco De Borja, located in the affluent Barrio Salamanca district of Madrid, offers a serene escape amidst the city's hustle. Designed by Francisco de Asís Fort Coghen in the late 1940s, this minimalist Jesuit church stands as a symbol of peace and elegance. Its clean architectural style invites visitors to explore its spiritual and historical significance. Admirers come not only to pay respects to Saint Jose Maria Rubio, who is buried within, but also to experience the tranquility of attending mass or exploring the insightful museum housed here. Just a stone's throw from the chic Serrano Street and the American Consulate, this church is the headquarters of the Jesuits in Spain and a remarkable destination for those seeking both spiritual enrichment and architectural beauty. With a commendable Google rating of 4.7, it's a must-visit spot in Madrid.

Es una iglesia muy grande. En el lado derecho del altar se encuentran los restos de San Francisco de Borja. Fuera en el claustro se pueden ver los restos de San José María Rubio Peralta. Recomiendo una visita.

Church is quite packed for a Sunday mass, location is Salamanca which is very fancy, Spanish people unlike Americans have a very relaxed glamour, Spanish people at mass are very casually dressed which is one if multitude of things I love about españa
