Extraordinário Igreja Barroca no centro de Madrid. Uma jóia arquitetónica do século XVII, pouco conhecida e frequentada por turistas. Todo o interior da igreja está coberto de pinturas a fresco, nomeadamente, dos iminentes pintores Francisco Ricci e Luca Giordano. Originalmente chamava-se Santo António dos Portugueses. Quand, em 1640, Portugal se tornou reataurou a sua independência, o templo deixou de acolher os súbditos portugueses e permaneceu vazio até que, em 1689, Mariana de Áustria o cedeu aos alemães católicos que em Madrid acompanhavam a esposa de Carlos II. A partir desse momento passou a ser conhecida como Santo António dos Alemães. A entrada acompanhada por audioguia custa 5€, mas vale a pena pois com audioguia podemos conhecer toda a história da sua construção e apreciar toda a iconografia.

Conocida como “la Capilla Sixtina de Madrid” por su espectacular cúpula y frescos barrocos. El edificio es modesto desde fuera, pero dentro hay un efecto visual absorbente. La entrada es popularmente económica y permite ver conciertos de órgano o sacro ocasionalmente. Espacio íntimo y sorprendente.
