The Almudena Cathedral, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, whose statue is linked to a popular city legend, is officially known as the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de la Almudena. This Catholic sanctuary, built in a Neo-Gothic style, houses a statue of the Virgin Mary that dates back to the sixteenth century.

The Almudena Cathedral regularly holds Sunday and festive masses, with a statue of Pope John Paul II, who consecrated the site during his papacy, standing at the entrance to the majestic building.
