Das Rathaus in Lübeck ist eines der größten und ältesten erhaltenen Rathäuser Deutschlands. Es wurde über einen langen Zeitraum vom 13. bis zum 16. Jahrhundert erbaut und vereint daher verschiedene Baustile, darunter die Gotik und die Renaissance. Insbesondere die beeindruckenden Schaufassaden zum Markt und zur Breite Straße hin sind charakteristisch für das Gebäude. Das Rathaus diente nicht nur als Verwaltungssitz der Stadt, sondern auch als Handelszentrum und Gericht. Seine prächtige Architektur spiegelt den Reichtum und die Macht der Hansestadt Lübeck wider. Das Gebäude ist bekannt für seine Verzierungen aus Backstein und die markanten Giebel. Im Inneren befinden sich unter anderem die Bürgerschaftssitzungssäle und der historische Gerichtssaal. Auch heute noch ist das Rathaus der Sitz des Bürgermeisters und der Stadtverwaltung und damit das politische Herz der Stadt.
