🚇 Westbourne Park 🍺 £3.05 Carling ❤️ The Frankfort Arms in Maida Hill was my last pub on a crawl from Westbourne Park Tube and the pub which left the biggest impression on me. . As I approached the pub I noticed there were three security on the door which was a bit of a surprise as it was only 4.30pm on a Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. So I asked myself a few questions, Why? being the first, Should I go in? the second, and lastly Did the direct debit come out for my life insurance? Then a meat wagon passed by full of old bill which wasn’t a good sign either. Anyway, so in the interest of research I made my way to the front door, walked in passed the security and made my way to the bar. I was served by a lovely Irish lady who was very welcoming and had a really nice manor about her. The beer choice was limited so I ended up ordering a pint of Carling, which isn’t my fav but on the plus side it was just over three quid and tasted fine. Looking for a seat I found a poser table near the front door which had duel purpose, I could get some good photos of the pub or stage exit left if it all came on top. Eventually I settled in to my surroundings and took stock of this pub. This is a social hub of the local community which is well represented by the Afro Caribbean and Irish communities, there were also a few lads in here who looked like they had raided the Peaky Blinders gift shop. The pub was busy and the atmosphere was upbeat and lively which was great. The decor is bright and colourful and the pub has really high ceilings. There were a few screens dotted about showing the horses but no one was really paying attention as most people were socialising rather than staring at TV’s or on their phones. . If you’re looking for Quail and couscous as part of your pub experience then this place is probably not for you. The Frankfort Arms is a no frills straight up boozer offering cheap beer and good service to the local community and beyond. I made assumptions before I went in this boozer and I’m glad I saw past them. The Frankfort Arms maybe not everyones cup of tea but I really enjoyed it here. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 30/08/21
