Donato al Comune di Lisbona dalla Thailandia nel 2012 per celebrarne i 500 anni di relazioni diplomatiche tra i due Paesi, fu inaugurato dalla Principessa Maha Chakri Sirindhorn durante una cerimonia ufficiale in presenza dell’allora first lady portoghese Maria Cavaco Silva. Non è un edificio funzionale né una sala espositiva, ma un padiglione ornamentale pensato come simbolo di armonia, idealmente posto in dialogo con il lungofiume e la Torre di Belém. La sua architettura elegante, dai tetti curvilinei e intagli elaborati, è avvolta da una cornice di alberi e prati ben curati, creando un contrasto delicato tra Oriente e Occidente lungo il Tago.
