Perched on a Lisbon hilltop, Castelo De São Jorge offers a captivating blend of history and stunning views. This 11th-century Moorish castle, once a royal residence, invites exploration with its ancient walls and fascinating palace ruins. The archaeological museum provides insights into its storied past, while the grounds are perfect for wandering and uncovering hidden corners. For a serene visit, it's best to arrive in the morning and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and fewer crowds. Children will delight in spotting the resident peacocks that add a whimsical touch to the setting. Well worth the entrance fee, this beautiful site promises a memorable experience for all.

Such a beautiful site with a great view (and a nice little walk up). Recommend to go in the morning, when less people are here and you can enjoy the view much more freely. You can really feel the history with the walls, but then you can also see how modern the city gets in the same time, it is a wonderful experience. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes as you will be walking and climbing a lot.
Good solid castle, with interesting commentary.
Great way to spend a day. Lots to see with castle, archeological site plus museum. So cool to wander around the castle and grounds. This is an amazing site to visit and well worth the entrance fee. I loved it.
