En los alrededores los cambistas de moneda (judíos, cristianos nuevos) ejercían su lucrativo negocio (prohibido moralmente al noble hidalgo, al cristiano viejo); fuera estaba la judería. El entorno no es ajeno a la especulación urbanística disfrazada de 'saneamiento' de antiguas casas y solares, un desgraciado destino.
