About

Iglesia De Santa María Del Camino O Del Mercado, located in León's historic grand plaza, is an enchanting tapestry of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque elements. This 14th-century church, known as Nuestra Senora, has served as a sanctuary for pilgrims journeying along the Camino de Santiago. Its understated beauty captivates visitors, highlighted by a finely sculpted Madonna set in a stone arch and a striking stone cross behind the church. Declared a historical-artistic monument of national importance in 1973, it offers a rare glimpse into the region's spiritual and cultural heritage. Accessible to all with a wheelchair-friendly entrance, the church is celebrated for hosting Leonese cultural events and is a must-visit for those exploring the city's rich architectural landscape.

Iglesia muy bonita y situada en un entorno agradable y peatonal. Edificio amplio y bien conservado. Ahora es la iglesia del Mercado por qué se ubica en la plaza del Grano por su parte trasera.
