Любой турист, с удовольствием, подсядет к сидящими на лавочке возле здания бывшей типографии, а ныне – кафе Wilde, писателям и получит на память снимок. Памятник является фантазией на тему никогда не состоявшейся встречи двух литераторов, носивших фамилию Wilde. Вот такое желание прославить малоизвестного эстонского писателя, посадив его рядом с Оскаром Уальдом, на основании одинакового написания фамилий. Автор скульптурной композиции, именуемой в народе «Два Вильде», стала Тийю Кирсипуу. Образы писателей взяты из сохранившихся фотографий. Памятник писателям Wilde в Тарту был открыт в 1999 году. Спустя несколько лет у эстонских деятелей культуры возникла идея подарить копию монумента Ирландии. Открытие скульптурной композиции на родине Оскара Уайльда состоялось 1 мая 2004 года и было приурочено ко вступлению Эстонии в Европейский Союз. В Ирландии памятник двум «уайльдам» стоит в городе Голуэй. Памятник Эдуарду Вильде и Оскару Уайльду в Тарту расположен в Старом городе на пересечении улиц Юликооли и Валликраави.
