About

Lynch's Castle in Galway is a striking testament to medieval architecture, standing proudly as one of the finest townhouses of its kind in Ireland. Though often associated with a dark chapter that contributed the term "lynch" to the English lexicon, the castle itself is a remarkable piece of history, telling its own tales of power and heritage. Today, this historic landmark seamlessly integrates with its modern surroundings, serving as a living piece of Galway's rich tapestry, inviting visitors to explore its storied past and admire its detailed Gothic features.

Nobody has talked about the history of Judge Lynch and why this is notable in addition to being a beautiful old building/ castle remnant. Look it up. It relates to the origin of the word "lynch" or "lynching". A sad & shocking story.

It’s just an old building - but it’s nice. Better to do on weekdays when the bank is open so you can see the ceiling.
