About
Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence stands as a prime example of Renaissance architecture, designed by the renowned Michelozzo di Bartolomeo for Cosimo de' Medici. Constructed starting in 1444, this stately palace embodies the tripartite elevation and stone masonry that accentuates the spirit of the Renaissance, influenced by classical Roman and Brunelleschian principles. Originally the principal residence of the powerful Medici family, the palace now serves a dual function as a municipal building and a museum, attracting visitors with its rich history and art collections. Rated 4.5 on Google, visitors are recommended to allocate 2-3 hours to fully appreciate the art galleries and historical exhibits in this majestic structure, located right in the heart of Florence.

Disappointing that it was changed so much by subsequent owners/residents
