About

Nestled in the southern part of Florence, about a 15-minute walk across the bridge from the city center, Chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine is a captivating example of Baroque architecture. Established in 1268 as part of a Carmelite convent, it still retains traces of its Romanesque-Gothic origins visible along its sides.

The church is renowned for the Brancacci Chapel, which houses magnificent frescoes by Masaccio, Masolino, and Lippi-an unmissable attraction for art lovers. Inside, the Baroque illusionistic ceiling and intricately designed side chapels provide a glimpse into the architectural grandeur of the period. Rated 4.5 on Google, Santa Maria del Carmine is also a suitable destination for families with children, offering both historical and artistic value.

Attention 2 parties !
